OWN Trust is a small but growing family of successful schools that work together to ensure the best possible opportunities and outcomes for our children. We believe that by providing the best opportunities for our staff and nurturing their development they will do the very best for the children in their care. A supportive network
Working in an OWN Trust school means that you are always supported and genuinely feel part of a family, whether you are a member of support staff, a fully qualified or Early Career Teacher or senior leader. The Trust possesses and shares an enormous amount of knowledge as part of its network of people. Owning a vast wealth of experience on which you can draw, from Trust colleagues working to the same vision and values, OWN Trust can provide access to the best role models whenever you need.
Being part of OWN actually means you are never on your own. Our staff work in teams across schools in areas such as safeguarding, SEN, Early Years and sport provision. Trust leaders and staff always support each other to look at alternative ways of delivery, meaning we work together to share the workload.
Continuing professional development
Nurturing the development of staff through continuing professional development (CPD) is part of the OWN vision. Our aim is to ensure that our staff can be the best they can be to support our children and our local communities. For this reason, we look to offer a range of CPD opportunities including 1-2-1 sessions with more experienced staff; as well as access to coaching and leadership development.
Staff also have the opportunity to work in different schools within the Trust as part of our approach to joint practice development. This is a great way to share best practice, develop investment in the future of all of the children in the Trust and see a range of effective provision.
Investment in the wellbeing of all our staff and children has never been more essential. That is why we offer more than is contracted for our employees. OWN Trust nurtures the wellbeing of staff by providing free access to the Employee Assistance Programme (EAP). Through EAP, staff can access a package of emotional and practical support that will help them to thrive at work, including access to a range of counselling options, financial, legal and practical support from a range of qualified professionals, and access to health and wellbeing resources.
OWN Trust means not being on your own. Various groups within the Trust run events for our family of schools at different levels. This helps us to nurture productive relationships that help staff to share expertise and learning, whilst team building and having fun together. Shared training days, treasure hunts, intra-Trust sports and social events all help to build a supportive OWN community.
Other OWN ‘extras’
At OWN you never have to be reminded about your tea and coffee contributions. The least we can do to help you through the day is to offer free tea and coffee with the occasional cakes, biscuits, and bacon rolls (including vegetarian and vegan options where possible!). Lunch is available to order in all schools and in some schools is offered free if you take it with the children. Occasional ‘thank you’ breakfasts allow staff to come together and recognise each other’s achievements, contribution and support, whilst setting you up for the day ahead.
