New CEO Visits Schools' Inset Days
On Wednesday 4th September, Lorraine Greco, the new CEO at OWN Trust, visited Woodston, Orton Wistow, and Nene Valley Primary Schools to introduce herself to teachers and TAs, set out her vision and priorities for the Trust and gain feedback from staff.
Lorraine began each presentation by quoting the SEND Code of Practice, which states that:
‘All children are entitled to an education that enables them to achieve the best possible educational and other outcomes, and become confident, able to communicate their own views and ready to make a successful transition into adulthood, whether in to employment, further or higher education or training’.
She highlighted the importance of this statement for her vision of OWN Trust and set out how the OWN Trust values – Opportunity, Work Together, and Nurture – will enable us to achieve this for all our children.
It was exciting to hear about the upcoming priorities for the Trust as Lorraine builds on the work of the former CEO, Stuart Mansell. The focus this academic year includes strengthening the education and business services offered to our schools and plans for growth.
After the presentation, Lorraine offered every staff member who attended the opportunity to complete a personal profile and give feedback about how OWN Trust can support them.
With her stated expectations of being positive, realistic, honest, present, and having high expectations, Lorraine set the foundation for meaningful and enriching working relationships in the months to come.
Lorraine summed up her thoughts in the closing remarks:
“Excellence will be at the heart of everything we do. From academic achievements to extracurricular activities, we will set high standards and provide the support we need to meet and exceed them. We will celebrate our successes, learn from our challenges, and continuously strive to improve.
In the coming weeks and months, I look forward to meeting and getting to know each of you. I want to hear your ideas, your aspirations, and your concerns. Together, we will create a shared vision for our trust that reflects our collective ambition and commitment to providing the very best education for our pupils and the very best place to work for our staff.
Thank you for your continued dedication to our pupils and for the warm welcome you have extended to me. I am proud to be part of this incredible team, and I am excited about the journey ahead. Let's work together to make our trust a beacon of excellence in education."
