OWPS Librarian selected for Blue Peter Book Club Panel

We are delighted that Mrs Campling, a librarian at one of the OWN Trust Schools, has been selected to be part of the Blue Peter Book Club panel for 2025-27.
In March, Mrs Campling, Librarian at Orton Wistow Primary School, received an open invitation to librarians, teachers and booksellers to apply to be on the Blue Peter Book Club panel for 2025-27. Those selected would be part of reading & reviewing a number of children’s books for consideration for the Blue Peter Book Club. The book club highlights excellence in children’s literature, in a variety of areas such as diversity, enjoyability, accessibility and cultural relevance. The books selected are promoted on the TV programme, in Blue Peter publications and online, with tie-in resources produced by BBC Bitesize.
Having sent off her application just before Easter, she was very pleased to hear on May 1st that her application had been successful and that she was officially a member of the panel!
Mrs Campling commented: "I have already begun the process of reading and reviewing the books - some of which are not even released yet - and look forward to being part of the process that decides which ones are chosen to promote a love of reading in children nationwide."
She also added: "To be selected for the panel was such a privilege, not only in terms of affirming my own experience and expertise but in being able to use that to help inspire and influence young readers on a national level. It’s also a nice accolade for OWPS - and the trust! - to have their librarian involved in such a significant national project."
