On Friday 7th June 2024, staff from the OWN Trust school and central office gathered at The Fleet in Fletton for our final trust-wide social event of the year. 

It was an opportunity for colleagues from across the Trust to get together and mingle, as well as enjoy dancing on the dance floor. With tickets costing £15 per head, it was good value for money and there was also a delicious buffet.

The OWN Trust Community Group meets regularly throughout the year to ensure that everyone feels part of OWN Trust. Next year, the Trust plans to have an event each term to which all staff from the Trust will be invited. Trust staff work together collaboratively on a regular basis in the schools, and we are keen to go the extra mile to foster closer relationships.  

The Community Group was established to ensure that the key elements needed to create a sense of community (as outlined by McMillan and Chavis (1986) are fulfilled:

1. Membership
2. Influence
3. Integration and fulfilment of needs
4. Shared emotional connection 

We hope that the event in June helped to strengthen existing bonds. Thank you to everyone who attended and made it a night to remember!
